House Extension in Sale

We have completed the Concept design of a single storey rear extension to the kitchen and living area of an existing 5 bedroom residence in Sale.

Although extremely spacious, the ground floor lacked functionality and easy access from the existing garage to the kitchen and garden.  Rethinking the room adjacencies to provide better circulation and without compromising the significant daylight that was coming through the existing conservatory, we have redesigned the living area extension providing a contemporary and much more energy efficient new full length glass roof.

The interior kitchen and living space has direct access to the outside by the new proposed large sliding doors that will open with level to provide a continuous flow of the internal space to the exterior.

In lieu of a redundant garden play area we have created a sun room with pitched rooflights, a place that the clients have asked for as an essential wellbeing space that will overlook their beautiful garden.

The proposed materials are a combination of natural horizontal timber cladding and zinc cladding that complement the existing materials, blend with the garden’s landscape and at the same time promote a contemporary look to the residence.
