Coming soon – Irlam Medical Centre

We have been appointed by Castlegate Projects to design the new building for Irlam Medical Centre in Salford.

The current accommodation of Irlam MC is limiting and restricting the Practice business plan, for this reason the Clinical Commissioning Group has identified a need for a Community Hub to provide additional services.

The project is looking to redevelop in phases, the whole existing live site, in order to provide a new building with flexible spaces, including digital consulting, and deliver current primary care services, as well as plan for future service needs and accommodate other NHS community services.

Arkilab Design Studio have been engaging with the client and specialist healthcare planning teams to ensure clinical healthcare models / patient pathways and deliver a fit for purpose facility.

We have been developing the conceptual design by exploring different phasing and massing options on site, in order to provide the best solution for the practice capacity and operation.

Key spaces incorporated into the scheme include:

  • Consultation / Examination Rooms
  • Dental Surgery
  • Audiology
  • Digital Consultation areas
  • Ancillary clinical spaces
  • Administration offices
  • Group / Meeting Rooms
  • Library

Project deliverability have been agreed as one of the key project issues, alongside clinical functionality, affordability and longer-term security and control of the building assets.
